Evolution of Internet Technologies: Web 1.0 to Web 3.0
Hello again and welcome back to yet another one of my blogs!!👋👋
Hope you all had a great Halloween, but sadly it's back to reality now!😒😒
Today I will briefly discuss another hot business related topic and that is the evolution of internet technologies over the last few decades. To show this evolution, I will be discussing the gradual transition from Web 1.0 to Web 3.0
Web 1.0 ("Static Web"), was first launched back in the 1990s and marked the beginning of the new internet era. Although it was considered a massive technological advancement at the time, there were still some limitations.
Any content that you could access was read-only and non-interactive and websites were built using only basic HTML. It was soon clear that improvements would have to be made to make the web more user friendly, which in turn led to the new "Social Web" era.
Web 2.0, which was launched in the early noughties represented a shift to more dynamic and user friendly content. Platforms introduced in this era such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube changed forever how people interacted and collaborated online. The social media trend had been born and would continue to grow at a rapid rate.
However, the onset of cyber attacks and internet hacking opened up the limitations that Web 2.0 still presented and it was clear that yet more adjustments would have to be made.

Web 3.0 ("Decentralised Web") is the stage of internet evolution that we are currently at today. The aim in this era is to make the web more intelligent and decentralised, which in turn enhances web security and control for us the users.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) for example, is integral to this period of evolution, helping to enable more personalised and collaborative interactions.
As you can see, I have attached a link for an interesting video explaining this great evolution in more detail, if you want to further your understanding around this topic.
Once again, thanks for reading and I hope you will be back for my next blog in the coming days.
Until then, goodbye and take care!👋👋👋
